Scenario Building

For each user above, we want at least one scenario describing the user’s visit to the SCA Web site. Some users (members, for example) will have multiple scenarios. The descriptions should be as detailed as possible.

  • Purpose: Describe a situation in which a user would come to this web site. What would the user like to accomplish in coming to the site? What information would he want to obtain?
Actions: Describe how you think he would go about completing the task using the web site. Where would he begin? What would he click on? What information would you expect to find?

Examples:

  1. Purpose: A potential new member wishes to find out about the current SCA membership. Who's in it? Anybody he's heard of? Does he know any of their work?
Actions: The potential new member goes to the home page. There, he looks for a link to either information about the organization or one which links directly to the composer bios. He browses the composer bios and determines if he knows any of the names or the works.
  2. Purpose: A current member wishes to find driving directions to the next event.
Actions: The member goes to the home page. There, he looks for a link to events. He locates the listing for the event of interest and clicks on the link “driving directions.”
