Online Projects

This section presents online projects that I have developed or contributed to. My contributions include graphics and layout, content editing, content development, client programming (JavaScript) and server-side programming (primarily ASP in JavaScript or CGI in Perl).

Remmy’s Catering

Remmy's Catering Remmy’s Catering is a full-service off-premise catering company in Issaquah, Washington, serving the greater Seattle area. Chef-owner Dawn “Remmy” Remington wanted a Web site to showcase her extensive menu and to facilitate communication with her clients.

Development of the Remmy’s Catering site included establishing the underlying information architecture, designing the layout based on her existing logo, editing her menu and other content for consistent voice and style, and writing the ASP code for her contact page and box lunch order form.

Celia Chavez

Celia Chavez Celia Chavez, a talented vocalist and songwriter, wanted a Web site to spotlight her capabilities and publicize her performances, supporting her move from Seattle to New York City.

Development of this site included visual layout and graphics, HTML coding, and copyediting.

Seattle Composers Alliance

Seattle Composers Alliance The Seattle Composers Alliance is a non-profit professional organization made up of working composers, students, and others interested in professional music composition. SCA composers write music for all media, including film, television, games, and advertising. The purpose of the Web site is to publicize the organization and its educational outreach and to promote networking.

Development of the SCA site included establishing the information architecture, designing the site layout (based on an existing logo), editing event announcement text. I have been the site Webmaster since its inception in 1999.

Athena

Athena, Earth and Space Science for K-12 Athena (1994–97) was a NASA-funded educational project to develop science curriculum materials for K-12. Athena was a partnership between Science Applications International Corporation, the Washington state Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI), and four school districts (Seattle Public Schools, Bellevue Public Schools, Northshore School District, and Lake Washington School District). Scientist-educator writing teams developed activities and lesson plans focused on online earth science data from NASA, NOAA, and other sources.

My involvement in Athena included contributing to the proposal, writing the configuration management plan, writing and editing curriculum materials, and answering site feedback questions from our global audience. I was also the Webmaster at the close of the project.
