Researcher
Worked as a researcher for the Asset Inventory Service (part of Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack) and related products (www.microsoft.com/windows/enterprise/products/mdop/ais.aspx). The project inherited a data set of ~500,000 software titles, some categorized. The deployed system produced an incoming stream of new titles for researchers to categorize.

  • Led the design effort to streamline the software categorization scheme from over 1600 categories to approximately 70
  • Categorized inventoried software in multiple schemes
  • Trained three additional researchers (2-week effort for each)
  • Provided introductory customer training for the legacy system replaced by AIS
